Frequently Asked Questions

Can vertical rails be retrofitted to existing walls?

Yes. The rail includes a transformer and all required mounts. If your electrician can route power to the mounting points, it can be retrofitted to tiled walls. The transformer can be placed behind a switch plate or in the roof cavity.

Do 12V rails heat as well as 240V models?

Yes. Heat output is determined by wattage, not voltage. A 12V rail with equivalent wattage performs like a 240V rail.

What temperature does the rail reach?

Approximately 35°C without a towel and 50–55°C beneath a towel for optimal drying.

Do I need a separate transformer for each rail?

Yes. Each rail is supplied with its own transformer. For safety, use one transformer per rail.

Where should the transformer be installed?

Install within 2 metres of the rail, either in the ceiling or wall cavity. If inside a wall, position it behind a switch plate with proper ventilation.

What spacing is recommended between multiple rails?

A spacing of around 200mm is ideal but can be adjusted depending on towel hook placement.

Can I wire multiple rails to one timer?

Yes, multiple rails can be connected to one timer if the total load does not exceed the timer’s capacity. Each rail must still connect through its own transformer before the timer.
